Emotional Intelligence Workshop

This workshop is presented by Gil Crosby. Crosby and Associates Workshops are intensive Applied Behavioral Science trainings which combine current thinking about leadership and human behavior with powerful personal insights and skill building.

Intelligence Quotient (IQ) is how smart you are in the thinking world (conceptual matters). Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is how masterful you are in the human world (emotional matters). EQ is the awareness of-and respect for-how emotions 'work' in yourself and others, which allows for more rational management of emotional moments. Individuals with low EQ, even if they have high IQ, will almost certainly be troubled at work and in their personal world as a result of difficulty in relationships.

EQ has been summarized and popularized by Daniel Goleman in his ground-breaking 1995 book, Emotional Intelligence. Goleman's research in his follow-up book, Working with EQ, indicated that EQ accounted for 67% of the abilities deemed necessary for superior performance, and mattered TWICE as much as technical expertise or IQ.

Participants will explore Emotional Intelligence (EQ), both through theory and practice.

You will learn and apply:
-The Three Components of Bowen's Inner Guidance System
-The Three Factor Model of Emotional Intelligence
-The latest Neuroscience related to EQ

Outcomes include:
-More objective and scientific self-awareness
-Understanding how, on a lifelong basis, to learn more effectively from your interactions and experiences
-Practical guidance on understanding and managing emotion in oneself and in others
-Conflict resolution
-Direct communication (focused on behavior and issue, not person) to bosses, peers, and patrons
-Giving feedback
-Receiving feedback
