Creating a Positive Online Learning Environment NEW SESSION ADDED!

1pm to 2:30pm, MSL Virtual Tech Sandbox Series

Imagine teaching an in-person class…blindfolded. Now imagine that your classroom and all the tools in it are unpredictable and need constant attention. Teaching in an online environment can make learners…and instructors…feel disconnected. And even the most stable technology can sometimes surprise you, distracting you and your learners from your focus — instruction.
As you make your leap into online instruction, spend a few minutes learning some best practices that can keep your class running smoothly, help connect you and your learners, and maintain the extraordinary level of customer service that our customers have come to expect.
This class will not focus on how specific software works, but rather how to wrangle technology and use it to your advantage. Facilitators: Katie George, Howard County Library System and John Jewitt, State Library Resource Center.
