EPFL - Meeting the Needs of Veterans

This course provides an overview of the unique characteristics of the Veteran population and strategies for providing customer service tailored to meet their needs. Topics include: an overview of the demographics of the Veteran population, a discussion of the differences between military culture and civilian culture, a review of Veteran strengths and challenges, recommended best practices and strategies for working with Veterans and a synopsis of available resources.

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

Understand the average demographics of the Veteran population
Describe the differences between military culture and civilian culture
Recognize both the strengths of the Veteran population and the challenges they face
Use strategies and best practices that that support Veterans
Identify resources that are available for Veterans, including those designed to meet the needs of homeless Veterans
